What is a cold plunge and why are people plunging into ice cold water?
Hello, my name is William Roder founder of Black Ice Plunge®. Being born in Cedar Falls, Iowa and moving to St Petersburg, Florida I questioned this logic all together!
My fitness journey started as a child and included Martial Arts, and Soccer as my primary sports. Martial Arts ended up being a lifestyle I continued throughout my life.
My.........our fitness and health really took a turn for the better starting a couple years ago when I met my now current partner Breanna. We had our first outing at a CrossFit gym, and have trained together ever since. In early 2023 we decided to start living an animal based diet as well as a lifestyle of sobriety. Our lifestyle choices push us to always look for the next challenge. After researching, listening to podcasts as well as talking to members in our fitness community cold plunging seemed to be the next step for us. The next thing I knew we were at the steps of a cold plunge facility for a "date night"! We have been challenged with it ever since. Heat and Cold Therapy have been a huge part of our recovery, as well as our mental toughness. If you can develop a habit of doing things that are hard it only makes everything else that much easier.
Black Ice Plunge® started as an idea to make cold plunging easier, cheaper, and more sanitary than the current options out there. We started with a need, created a solution, and presented it in an amazing package. Service is key and that's where we really start to lap our competition. I personally design, create, and fabricate all of our plunges with safety, and quality in mind. All of our plunges are assembled, and tested prior to delivery, and setup is a part of the deal.
